Jardin Tino Rossi

The Jardin Tino Rossi is a lovely place to walk along the edge of the River Seine through attractive gardens that have been created along this stretch of river.

The gardens are full of mature trees including plane trees, flowering cherry, weeping willows, pines and rowan trees.

In the spring the flowers of magnolia trees add to the beautiful cherry blossoms.

Flower beds are filled with a mix of shrubs, grasses, perennials and annual flowering plants which look lovely against the backdrop of the river.

The Tino Rossi garden is also home to an outdoor sculpture museum, the 'Musée de la Sculpture en plein air'. This is home to a number of large sculptures by artists of the second half of the 20th century.

These include Ossip Zadkine, Cesar Baldaccini, Jean Robert Ipousteguy and Constantin Brancusi. These large sculptures can be found all along the length of the garden and each has a plaque with information about the artist.

Also in the garden is an outdoor gym where you can go for a workout and also a play area for dogs if you are walking your dog along the river.

Be sure to visit the garden on a summer evening as its three amphitheaters host regular dances and you can go along and join in. The music is often tango but other dancing styles such as hip-hop and salsa.

The atmosphere really is quite special. From 7pm to midnight you can enjoy the music and the dancing.

The Tino Rossi Garden is named after a Corsican singer and actor popular in Paris in the 30s and onwards until the 1970s. He was still performing up until his death in 1983.
