Explore Binic
France This Way review: although it is not a very important resort, Binic is a pleasant place for a promenade around the harbour and lunch in a waterside cafe.
It is easy your find your way around Binic: the town centre is quite small, and on the seafront. This seafront promenade area is where you will find all the cafes and several shops, overlooking a port for small boats. There are jetties either side of the port: you can walk out along both of these jetties for the best views of the town and beaches.
Either side of the port there are long sandy beaches. Binic is usually associated with its neighbour, as Binic-Etables-sur-Mer, and between them they have six beaches in a north direction from the centre of the town. The principal beach is the Plage de la Banche, which also has a swimming pool, but they are all clean sandy beaches.
Apologies for our beach photos - both times we visited it was suddenly cool and cloudy but they look much nicer on a sunny day when they are crowded with visitors!
The principal historic monument in Binic is the church of Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Voyage. The church, that is taller than the other buildings in Binic and dominates the skyline, was built in 1821 to replace an earlier chapel in the same location. It is not a particularly interesting church but the design of the spire is quite unususal, with a square tower that supports a hexagonal tower pierced by arches that in turn supports a tall slender tower.
You will also find a small museum in Binic that presents the arts and traditions of the region, especially the fishing industry.
From the port you can follow a walk along the coast that leads to Saint-Quay-Portrieux. This ancent customs path has lots of pretty views of the coast, as well as glimpses into some lovely gardens during the first part of the path before you leave Binic and enter the countryside.

Attractions nearby
On the coast to the south-east of here you can visit the scenic viewpoint at the Pointe du Roselier, one of the best viewpoints in this part of the Cotes-d'Armor department.
Another small resort a few kilometres north from Binic is Saint-Quay-Portrieux, which has a selection of several beaches.
To the south, Saint-Brieuc has quite an interesting historic centre with several medieval buildings, and if you travel north from Binic you reach the town of Paimpol, with a chance to visit the picturesque Beauport abbey as you approach the town.
